 Got a strong urge to write this piece. Motivation from none other than Zelenskyy.

As  history is being written, the most horrific images that we are all watching from the comfort of our living rooms, Zelenskyy has emerged as the bravest leader in the modern world. 

The most striking thing for me, harder than each ballistic missile that Ukraine is being struck with is,22 days of war and Ukraine is standing united. Not a single protest against the leadership. All are together in it. They all have the same feeling. Its incredible!!!!!!!! No difference of opinion here as to what should be their stand against the invasion. Whether they should compromise or give up the fight,   nothing of the sort. Demanding more weapons from the world to defend themselves. Cries of help. Citizens who left the country initially, want to come back to fight, even women.  Nothing but sad but heroic. 

I hope nothing like this happens to any country ever, but I wonder if we would see this deep sense of patriotism ever again.  

The democracies of the world and others, a lesson I am sure for all of us. 

Yesterday about 300 lawmakers of Ukraine got together and sang their national anthem . 

To me, Ukraine has won the war.  

Long live UKRAINE .Long live ZELENSKYY .

May the world have many such countries and leaders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

B 4 The legends are made of this !!!!!

The cricketer who is proud to be a part of the Indian army !!!

In India it is rare to find a cricketer who is part of the army. 

The skipper who changed how the world looked at the captain of the Indian cricket team. He commanded respect. Remained grounded despite the huge number of times he lead the team to victory, when the team failed to perform. No situation changed his calm exterior on the ground. just a light smile when the team won. I never found him playing for himself, he always played for the country. Kept the wicket at lightening speed. My heart skipped heart beats when his helicopter shots took the ball out of sight.

Dhoni was one of the fastest runners between the wickets, that India had. July 2019, World Cup semifinal, he got run out and couldn't take India to the final. It turned out to be his last match.

I remembered Zinadine Zidane. In 2006, he had announced his retirement after FIFA. In the semifinal, he was given a red card for head butting a Real player . It turned out to be Zizou's last match too.France didn't go on to win the cup. Definitely not the way he would have liked his career to end. It is said that he was offered a huge amount to cancel his retirement and continue to play but he graciously refused. 

This can happen to such Legends too!!!!The world looks at them with even more respect and love because it proves that they too are human.  They still remain legends and occupy a space in your heart for ever !!!!!! They shine brighter , and teach the world how to take failures even while bowing out of the sport. 

FOR ME, CRICKET WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. ONE MORE HEARTACHE IN 2020!!!!

I generally try and sleep off early when too many things go wrong on a particular day. I tell my self that lets end the day soon so nothing more can go wrong .

CAN WE END THE YEAR 2020 SOON ?????

B 3 How many martyrs do we need ?

 B3 How many martyrs do we need ?Before we make 'quality ' and 'safety' our virtues. 

 Case in point , Air India Express crash. What ever the reason may be but if the airstrip would not have  been a table top , we would have had much less casualties . 

This was not the first incident , sadly , may be not the last . Committies will be formed , recommendations will be given and......forgotten.

We have a culture of 'Bhagwan bharose' .(God will take care of it ) .Politics, red tape and bueaurocracy dominate over critical measures of quality and safety. 

Heroic act of the pilot. Captain was the best man in the profession , co pilot too. Precious lives lost . 

We see negligence in so many walks of life . Train accidents, building and bridge collapses, fires, stampede . Hapless citizens loose lives, soon we move on. 

Also, cant help but write about Sushant Singh Rajput. 

At the risk of sounding cynical , the only thought I have is , if a politician is involed , only the politician will win. 

Latest example, Vikas Dubey.  . In the criminal - cops- politician nexus , the politician won. Cops were killed , criminal was silenced .

 Meghnaad is my 8 year old nephew. I have a special bond with this child for reasons unknown. From a few social meetings I have had with him, I have come to this conclusion that he is a genius. Excellent vocabulary in multiple languages, super imagination, clarity of thoughts are a few of his qualities. 

When he was 6 yrs old , he came to my dental clinic for the first time. I was at my best to alleviate his fears ( but I don't think he had any) . I was trying to divert his attention from the main dental procedure and we were talking . 

Me : Meghnaad , what do you want to become when you become big ? ( I think it was a bad , boring question to ask a 6 yr old, 🤣.) But in hindsight , i am happy I asked. 

Meghnaad : I want to become a gentleman!!!!! 

I was speechless. I managed to ask further. 

Me: Why do you want to become a gentleman? 

Meghnaad : Because my mother said I have to become a gentleman when I grow up. 

It was as simple for the kid to become what his mother wanted him to. 

Kudos to this mother for instilling such a  behavioural thought into her son's mind. 

Isnt it said that the home is a child's first school ??????
